A former Head of Department of History and Strategic Studies, Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University Makurdi (MOAUM), Professor Gabriel Nyityo, has been killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
Dr Nyityo, a professor of history, was killed in his Makurdi residence on Tuesday, July 7.
The HOD, Prof Victor Iyanya, has confirmed the incident.
This is not the first time that gunmen have killed the university’s lecturer. Dr Gwa Jande, then Dean of the Faculty of Law, was killed in 2009.
The police in Makurdi have yet to state the circumstances of the incident.
