The member representing Oju/Obi Federal Constituency, Rep. David Ogewu, has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful, supporters, and the general public not to lose hope in view of reports that he is not the party’s candidate for the 2027 general election.
Earlier this week, the Governor of Benue State, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, presented Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Nomination Forms to Mr Peter Egbodo as the APC candidate for Oju/Obi Federal Constituency.
Rep Ogewu, however, says the APC “will do the needful soonest” in announcing him as the legitimate candidate for the election.
The federal lawmaker tasks his constituents with taking a retrospective look at the same issue in the 2023 primary election, which went all the way to the Supreme Court, where he won. He reasoned that the same feat would be replicated and the collective will of the people would be upheld.
Rep Ogewu encourages his supporters to believe in the mandate they collectively gave him to represent them in the National Assembly come 2027, while urging them not to lose hope amid “the temporary dramatic setback.”
