2027: Fr. Alia tasks ‘Alia For All’ group on grassroots mobilisation, unity

Date:

Benue State Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has charged members of the political support group, Alia For All, All For Alia, to embrace discipline, unity and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governor gave the charge on Monday, October 19, during the inauguration of the group, convened by Sir Alex Addingi, popularly known as Alexander the Palm, in Makurdi. He was represented by Chief Benjamin Omale, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Benue State.

Fr. Alia congratulated the convener on the initiative and commended support groups working towards his re-election, assuring them that their efforts and contributions were appreciated.

He urged the groups to establish functional structures down to the polling-unit level and promote the meaningful participation of women and youths in politics and the electoral process.

The governor also called on members to sustain peaceful political engagement and foster unity, stressing that the strength of any organisation depended on the discipline and unity of its members.

He described the convener as a close friend who had done a commendable job in establishing the platform.

Speaking on the group’s objectives, Sir Alex said Alia For All, All For Alia was a people-driven movement bringing together committed citizens, political leaders, community influencers and grassroots mobilisers to promote good governance, development and peace in Benue State.

He said the group would leverage technology to strengthen its mobilisation network, build a reliable database of supporters and assess its organisational capacity ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to him, the initiative is designed to provide the governor and the party with a credible picture of the group’s grassroots reach and mobilisation strength three months before the election.

The group also pledged support for the re-election bids of Fr. Alia and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT), while expressing its commitment to a Benue and Nigeria founded on equity, people-centred development, environmental sustainability and economic growth.
