Stakeholders in Ushongo Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State have pledged support for Fr. Hyacinth Alia, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
The declaration was made at a political convention organised by the Kohol Nen Alia Asortar Movement in Lessel, the headquarters of Ushongo LGA, where APC leaders, women, youths and elders converged to discuss the political future of the area.
In a statement issued by the Prof. Kohol Iornem Media and Publicity Team on Friday, October 2, the gathering declared “absolute support” for the re-election of Fr. Alia, PBAT and APC candidates for the State House of Assembly seats in Ushongo.
The movement also reaffirmed its position that the Ushongo axis produces the APC candidate for the Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency, throwing its weight behind Prof. Kohol Iornem.
It described Prof. Kohol as the group’s preferred and “legitimate” APC candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election, pledging what it called an “unalloyed” commitment to his candidacy.
Among those at the convention were Mr Maurice Tsav, Mr Dan Boor, Hon. Ajabu, Mr Tsetim Tsavnum, Mr Simon Tyonem, Mr Ken Kaase, Mrs Tsegba Ajah, and APC ward point men, including Mr John Umaru.
Women and youth leaders, as well as elders and other stakeholders from the Mata and Mbagwa areas, also participated in the convention.
