Law graduate from Rev Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi (formerly Benue State University) and Doctoral Researcher at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, United Kingdom (UK), Kamo Sende, Esq, has been appointed to the Environmental Law Sub-Committee of the Law Society of Scotland, United Kingdom (UK).
Mr Sende is currently researching the interplay between International Trade law, sustainability, and food in the UK. He is one of Africa’s leading voices calling for action against climate change.
In accepting the appointment, Mr. Sende says it is a responsibility he holds “with great pride.”
“I have always taken on roles that allow me to defend our shared planet, and this new appointment continues that journey.
“My research at School of Law and Social Sciences reflects this long-standing commitment as I explore environmental issues from the perspective of small-scale farmers in the global south.
“As my term begins in January 2026 for an initial three years, I look forward to working with fellow Scottish solicitors who share the same passion for shaping meaningful and practical ways to protect our environment. I believe our profession can lead from the front in this vital work.
“My home country, Nigeria, recently nominated me as a party to #COP30 in Belém, Brazil. I am grateful for the chance to contribute to Scotland, the country I now call home, and to the wider global effort to protect our planet.
“I am truly thankful,” Mr. Sende shared on his verified Meta account.
