Messages of eulogy are pouring in as Fr. Solomon Ukeyima, Dean Ikpayongo Deneary and Convener, Kyegh Sha Shwa (KSS) turns 49 on Tuesday, July 15. He was born on July 15, 1976.
Fr. Ukeyima was ordained a priest of the Catholic Church in 2001 and is known for his devotion to Christ and the church and for humanitarian acts. Recently, he embarked on an aggressive campaign to return to his farm, winning the Benue Foods and Markets award for his pioneering efforts in 2025.
Ukan Kurugh, a lead advocate at UkanKurugh with a passion for humanity, sees Fr. Ukeyima as a priest living according to his vows: “One who is called to serve God and humanity.”
According to Dr. Terna Francis, Director General of Benue State Education Quality Assurance Agency, Fr. Ukeyima is celebrated not just for his birth but also for the incredible life of service, compassion, and selflessness that he leads every day.
“Your unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, your heart for the poor and the vulnerable, and your devotion to Christ’s mission on earth continue to inspire and bless countless lives.
“May God bless you abundantly with good health, renewed strength, and divine favour. As you keep touching lives and spreading the light of Christ through your noble work, may you also find joy, peace, and fulfilment in every step of your journey,” Dr. Terna wrote.
Anenge Dillion Jev wrote: “Be happy, Padre Mfa Tivdoo! Today is the day you were brought into this world to be a blessing to people around you! You are a wonderful Rev. Father! May you be given more birthdays to fulfil your dreams!”
Eric Dashi wrote in his message, “May God continue to give you more strength, wisdom, and patience to serve humanity as well as many, many more years of fruitful and sound health, multiple blessings, etc. Amen.”
Displaced thrice due to attacks by armed herdsmen, Fr. Ukeyima has been involved with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Benue State, raising awareness on their plight while raising funds for both food and non-food supplies to the IDPs.
On his birthday today, he indicated that any funds to celebrate him would be channelled to the roofing of St. Mark’s Mission Apir church building.
