July 9 for distribution of Fr. Alia’s Green Oil Palm seedlings

Date:

The distribution of oil palm seedlings under the Fr. Alia’s Green Oil Palm Revolution 2025 will commence on Wednesday, July 9, TNT can report.

Sam Agwa, Head of Operations & Research, MIDWEST AGRO SERVICES LTD & Secretary Benue Alia Palm Project, says in a statement that the unveiling of the seedlings will take place at the Benue Alia Palm Project Demonstration Nursery, Old GRA, Makurdi, at 2:00pm.

He adds that the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Benue State, Professor Moses Ogbaji, will perform the ceremony with the distribution of 13,000 oil palm seedlings to Buruku Local Government Area (LGA).

The exercise is powered by Sir Alex Addingi, Special Adviser to the Governor on International Investments, and is commencing with his home LGA.

“Every Council Ward in Buruku will benefit 1000 stands as free donation powered by Sir Alex Addingi, Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue State on International Investments and President, Benue Alia Palm Project (BAPP),” part of the statement reads.

In 2012, Sir Addingi commenced the oil palm a.k.a Black Gold campaign, with a target to make Benue State the hub of oil palms.

He has distributed thousands of oil palm seedlings to government and private institutions, journalists, and other members of the public, while calling on the people of the state to plant at least five oil palms.
