Two former US presidents have offered condolences and prayers to the Texas communities affected by flooding in Texas. They are George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
No fewer than 69 people, including 21 children, have been killed after flash floods swept through parts of central Texas.
Obama described the impact of the floods as “absolutely heartbreaking,” adding that he, along with his wife, Michelle, are “praying for everyone who has lost a loved one or is waiting for news – especially the parents.”
Bush said he and his wife, Laura, are “heartbroken by the loss of life and the agony so many are feeling.” He added that they know “Our words cannot help, but we believe the prayers of so many Americans will.”
Earlier, in a post on social media, US President Donald Trump said, “These families are enduring an unimaginable tragedy.”
Meanwhile, a search for 11 girls from Camp Mystic continues as the BBC North America correspondent, Gary O’Donoghue, is reporting that “Hope is fading and this is rapidly becoming a recovery exercise more than a rescue mission.”
