The African Democratic Congress (ADC) aspirant for the 2027 Benue North West (Zone B) Senatorial District election, Iveren Ukula, a.k.a. Queen Amina, is promising to provide “stomach development infrastructure” if elected.
Her comments are coming in time. There are lamentations in some quarters that the governor of Benue State has emphasised development infrastructure and meeting the government’s statutory financial obligations against “Sharing money” with the people.
Queen Amina is from Gboko, one of the seven Local Government Areas (LGAs) that make up Zone B. Since the return to democracy in 1999, no one from Gboko has been elected to represent the senatorial districts.
The ADC aspirant, who reckons the time has come to try a woman for the legislative role, insists that no longer shall the people worry about “stomach and developmental infrastructure” with her as their Senator.
She told TNT that if democracy is about the people, then it is only right that those elected to lead the people do exactly what the people want.
According to Queen Amina, Zone B can count on her to do exactly what they want: provide “stomach development infrastructure” for both “stakeholders and the masses.”
The former APC stalwart, who dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the coalition ADC also said time has come to try new hands because not much gains have been recorded by having the establishment politicians leading the affairs of the people.
According to Queen Amina, 2027 is not about her, but about the suffering people of Zone B, who have, over time, suffered neglect in infrastructure development and the lack of basic things that make life meaningful.
The ADC senatorial aspirant is, therefore, calling on ADC faithful in the state to rally support for her to win the party ticket ahead of the January 2027 National Assembly elections. She is optimistic that once she secures the ADC ticket, victory at the general polls is certain.
