115 women benefit from the D’Fudi empowerment programme in Konshisha

Date:

115 women from Konshisha Local Government Area (LGA), Benue State, have benefitted from the D’Fudi Women Empowerment programme.

The programme, organised by D’ Fudi Cuisine in collaboration with Livitsar Support Group, kicked off in Konshisha LGA, the north-eastern part of the Nigerian Food Basket State, on Monday, December 15.

It aims to complement the efforts of the Executive Governor of Benue State, as women are empowered to acquire valuable skills in pastry-making, Dr Dorcas Akpoghol, Chief Executive Officer of D’Fudi Cousine and a frontline contender for the 2027 Konshisha State Constituency election, said.

She urged the women to pay close attention to the training, as the skills they acquire will bring fulfilment to their individual lives.

The D’Fudi owner expressed appreciation to Dr. Livinus Tsar, the governor’s point man in Konshisha LGA, for his support and collaboration in making the event a success.

Addressing the women, the Chairman of Konshisha Local Government Council (LGC), Mr Moses Chikyaa, charged them to take advantage of the training to better their lives and make the most of the opportunity to learn valuable skills in pastry-making.

Mrs. Judith Achar represented the chairman.

In his remark, Dr. Timothy Akpoghol also encouraged the women to take advantage of the training and make judicious use of all the items and kits presented to them.

He further urged the women to be proactive and innovative in applying the skills they would acquire during the training.

The training programme is designed to equip women with valuable pastry-making skills, enabling them to become self-reliant and contribute to the economic development of their families and communities.

In the course of the training, the women learned the art of making soft, fluffy doughnuts, perfect buns for commercial sales, and crispy, delicious egg rolls. They also received expert tips on pricing, packaging, and marketing.

The women were also presented with frying pans, frying spoons, mixing bowls, 50kg of flour, 25kg of vegetable oil, sugar, and many more.

Government officials, traditional leaders, and representatives from various organisations attended the event to offer moral support.
