UK varsity lecturer congratulates Prof. Kohol on victory at APC primaries

Date:

Dr. Kurannen Baaki, a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering and Built Environment at Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom (UK), has congratulated Prof. Kohol Iornem on clinching the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the 2027 Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency election.

Dr. Baaki, who hails from the Ushongo Local Government Area and resides in the UK, also serves as the Assistant Secretary-General of the Mzough U Tiv UK (MUTUK).

On Saturday, June 4, Prof. Kohol received Dr. Baaki at his Makurdi residence following the lecturer’s arrival in Nigeria on a family visit.

Dr. Baaki said the nomination of Prof. Kohol to fly APC’s flag for the 2027 House of Representatives election is a demonstration of the “trust and confidence the party has in your ability and capacity to provide leadership and bring development to the people of Kwande/Ushongo.”

He is optimistic that given Prof. Kohol’s track record, the people of Kwande/Ushongo, will be well-represented.

While commending Prof. Kohol for offering himself for public service, Dr. Baaki urged him to continue engaging constituents with his progressive ideas as Nigerians prepare for the upcoming general elections.

Responding on behalf of his campaign organisation, Prof. Kohol thanked Dr. Baaki for the visit. He also expressed gratitude to Dr. Baaki and the “UK family” for their continued encouragement and support, promising to be a true representative of the interests of Kwande/Ushongo if elected.

Prof. Kohol polled over 40,000 votes to beat his opponents in a landslide victory for the Kwande/Ushongo APC ticket.
