Nigerian international, Francisca Ordega, has inaugurated two water projects at two separate locations in Gboko Local Government Area (LGA), Benue State.
Ordega, who sees water as life, led guests in cutting the ribbon for the inauguration of the projects on Monday, July 6.
The water projects are located in her hometown, Tse Mue Ato Mbaaye, and the other in the neighbouring community of Ikpenger, both in Mbaavarakaa Council Ward, Mbatiav, Gboko LGA.
She is optimistic that the projects will serve the domestic water needs of the two communities and improve hygiene.
The two communities were excited that Ordega’s kind gesture would alleviate the water scarcity they face each year.
Zaki Ankele and Elder Tyoanhyev Adzenda, who spoke on behalf of the traditional Council and the people of the communities, commended the Nigerian international for her “thoughtfulness” and expressed gratitude for her generous contribution to humanity.
Mr. Joseph Ordega Ankele, father of the international footballer, was visibly proud of her daughter.
It is a dream come true through his daughter, as it has always been his desire to give back to society. Mr Ordega excitedly told those who graced the event, as he prayed to God to grant her more strength, wisdom, and zeal to do more for the people.
Gboko- born Francisca Ordega plays as a forward for Saudi Women’s Premier League club Al-Ittihad.
Vancouver Ter Allam, media coordinator Francisca Ordega Foundation (FOF), told TNT Sport that the water projects are Ordega’s personal initiative to address the water needs of the communities.
