The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed Thursday, November 5, 2026, for the inauguration of its joint campaign council for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) and Fr. Hyacinth Alia, with former member of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Citizen Asema, appointed Director-General of the campaign council.
TNT understands that the inauguration, scheduled to hold in Makurdi, will formally herald the commencement of the party’s campaign activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party, in a statement announcing the composition of the joint campaign council on Monday, November 2, said the council would coordinate campaign activities for both PBAT and Fr. Alia in the state.
The appointment of Citizen Asema as Director-General places him at the head of the campaign machinery tasked with coordinating efforts towards securing Fr. Alia’s re-election.
According to the party’s statement, a supplementary list of members of the campaign council would be released in due course, while full campaign activities would commence in the coming weeks.
The statement was signed by the party’s State Organising Secretary, James Ornguga, and dated November 2, 2026.
The November 5 inauguration is expected to bring together party leaders, elected officials, political stakeholders and other members of the APC as the party prepares to formally launch its campaign structure in Benue State.
