The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 Gwer East State Constituency election, Hon Barr. Godwin Aondohemba Buluku, has commissioned and handed over a motorised borehole water project to the people of Gbemacha in Gwer East Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State. Inaugurated on Friday at St. Alice’s Church, Ikyagh U-use, Gbemacha, the project was facilitated by Buluku through the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation.
Speaking at the event, Hon Buluku said his decision to deliver the water project was inspired by his firsthand experience of the community’s long-standing water challenges. He said it has always been his desire to provide essential amenities that the people could not individually afford, adding that, if elected into the Benue State House of Assembly in 2027, he would ensure that the people enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Hon Buluku who appreciated Prof. Joseph Utsev, Minister for Water Resources and Sanitation for the project and Sen George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), for his fatherly encouragement and support reaffirmed his commitment to standing for his people, noting that he has consistently challenged the Nigerian Air Force over alleged land grabbing.
Welcoming guests to the event, APC Chairman for Gbemacha, Hon Asema Emmanuel, commended Buluku for facilitating the water project. He said the gesture demonstrated the confidence the party reposed in him by giving him its ticket for the 2027 election, expressing optimism that the confidence would not be misplaced.
In separate goodwill messages, Chairman of the A3 Advisory Council, Hon Dan Iornyagh Achioko, and Hon Atime Kyor described Hon Buluku as a focused and intelligent young leader committed to community development. They urged party members and residents to remain united, stressing that unity was essential for development, and described Hon Buluku’s emergence as the APC candidate as divinely ordained.
The District Head of Gbemacha, Tyoor Amir Shor, praised Buluku as the kind of son the community had always desired. He commended APC members for presenting him as their candidate and called on the people to pray for his political success. He also urged residents to protect the water project to encourage more developmental interventions.
The parish priest, Fr. Ben Kulekule, blessed the water project and prayed for its effective use by the community. He thanked God for Buluku’s life and for using him to provide clean water for his people, describing him as a determined and hardworking leader whose exposure and diligence distinguish him from his peers.
Barr. T.T. Akuha, Barr. Alex Iortyer Gbor, APC Gwer East Chairman Hon John Akange, Federal Chief, accompanied Hon Barr. Buluku to the event, which was well attended by party people and members of the congregation of St. Alice’s.
