LA President congratulates Fr. Alia ahead PCPS launch

Date:

The President of Lawyers Alert (LA), Dr Rommy Mom, has congratulated Benue State Governor Fr. Hyacinth Alia as he prepares to formally launch the People-Centred Public Safety (PCPS) programme in the state on February 24, 2026.

PCPS is a structured, community-driven public safety framework that places citizens, especially women, youth, and vulnerable groups, at the centre of security governance.

Launching it in Benue State, according to Dr Mom, would mark a critical turning point in Benue State’s security governance.

“By institutionalising a collaborative, lawful, and community-driven approach to public safety, your administration has reinforced the foundation for a safer Benue. Security is the bedrock of economic growth, investor confidence, agricultural productivity, and social stability.

“The launch of PCPS, therefore, carries profound implications not only for the protection of lives and property but also for sustainable economic prosperity across the state,” Dr Mom says in a congratulatory note to the governor.

He also commended the Benue State Bureau of Homeland Security for its tireless coordination and leadership in facilitating this historic event, as well as the valued partnership and support of the Open Society Foundations.

“Benue has taken a bold and visionary step forward.”
