Prof. Hon sympathises with Turan over Abande attack

Date:

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and Professor of Law Practice, Chief Sebastine Hon, Sema Wan u Tiv, has conveyed a message of sympathy and empathy to the Kwande Local Government Area (LGA), particularly the people of Turan, following the gruesome assault on the Abande community on Wednesday, February 4.

While the police confirmed that five people were killed in the attack, local sources say about 17 people were killed. TNT could not independently verify the number of casualties.

Professor Hon, SAN, who expressed his heartfelt condolences to the affected individuals on his verified Facebook account, said his heart aches for the Turan people in particular, and for Benue State as a whole, especially, as such a vile act against them on their ancestral lands is better imagined than being told.

The learned Senior Advocate of Nigeria wondered when the tribulations of the Tiv people would cease and called on relevant stakeholders to take immediate action to ensure that the affected communities receive adequate care while devising preventive measures.

Prof. Hon, who fervently prayed to God, without much ado, turned his merciful eyes on the people of Benue, stating that the blood of all innocent souls ruthlessly slained in cold blood and displaced in broad daylight cries out for justice and yearns for Divine intervention.

He, therefore, prayed God to grant eternal rest to the souls of those who have died in the course of the attack and bestow upon the bereaved the fortitude to bear the loss.
