Benue State Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, is named among the 73 leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) constituted by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) as members of the 2026 National Convention Central Coordination Committee.
The APC National Convention is scheduled for March this year.
Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Senator Hope Uzodimma, will chair the committee with the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, as secretary.
Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, APC National Secretary, in a statement, said details of the inauguration of the committee will be announced in due course.
The establishment of the Central Coordination Committee signals the formal commencement of internal processes leading to the APC’s 2026 National Convention, a key event expected to shape the party’s leadership and strategic direction ahead of future electoral contests.
It is understood that the committee draws its membership from across the party’s leadership structure, including serving governors, former governors, federal and state lawmakers, ministers and other senior party stakeholders, reflecting the APC’s effort to ensure broad-based coordination ahead of the convention.
