Benue: Akume’s LGA crawls as Katsina-Ala leads APC e-registration

Date:

Tarka, the home Local Government Area (LGA) of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen George Akume, is crawling second-to-last on the log of performance of LGAs in the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration in Benue State.

On January 10, APC commenced e-registration of its members in Benue State, with the governor, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, being enrolled at his ward’s headquarters in Ihugh, Vandeikya LGA. The exercise is expected to last until the end of this month.

Analysis of registration data shows Katsina-Ala LGA in the lead with 10,630 members, followed by Kwande and Vandeikya LGAs with 9,823 and 9,750 members, respectively.

In the fourth and fifth positions are the Buruku and Makurdi LGAs, with 8,895 and 8,656 members, respectively.

The last three LGAs on the log, in terms of the number of members captured, are Ohimini, Tarka, and Ado, with 3,065, 2,684, and 2,829 members, respectively.

According to the data published by Mr James Ornguga, the Benue State Coordinator, APC E-registration Exercise, the state has already recorded 131,934 members.

Meanwhile, Mr Ornguga has clarified that the “e-registration exercise does not require biometric capturing or snapping of party members as pictures and bio data information are pre-configured as retrieved through NIN.”

According to the coordinator, “all new and old members from any ward or local government willing to register are to forward their National Identification Number, Voter’s Identification Number and other basic information required on the APC registration form to our Zonal Coordinators for action via: Zone A: 07063778550, Zone B: 08132483320, Zone C: 08059149221.”

In the alternative, Mr Ornguga urged “party members from any part of the state who reside in Makurdi” to visit the APC State Secretariat and submit their details to the party’s Data Collection Agents for their registration.
