The Ministry of Justice and Public Order in Makurdi is committed to supporting the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in its efforts to combat financial crimes in Benue State.
Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Public Order in the state, Professor Yangen Ornguga, disclosed this when he received top operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, led by Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE) Effa Okim, in his office.
Prof. Ornguga is optimistic that cooperation between his ministry and the anti-graft agency will also help tackle ghost workers and asset recovery and forfeiture matters.
He, therefore, thanked the EFCC delegation for the visit.
ACE Okim recently assumed leadership of the EFCC Makurdi Zonal Directorate and used the visit to seek collaboration and support of the Benue Ministry of Justice and Public Order to enhance the EFCC’s ability to execute its constitutional mandate effectively.
The anti-graft agency has been making gains recently by securing judgments, particularly in cases related to “yahoo.”
