Iron tree beans (Gbaaye) are trading at Two Hundred and Eighty Seven Thousand Naira (N287,000.00) only, in Benue State.
At Tor Donga Market in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area (LGA), Benue State, Hiam Igyundunase, one of the local traders, says Bambara nuts come distant second, trading at Seventy Five Thousand Naira (N75,000.00) only per bag.
Bambara nut was capped at Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00) only at the last Jato- Aka (Aga) Market.
Other commodities are trading as follows:
Groundnuts- Forty Five Thousand Naira Only (N45,000.00)
Sorghum – Forty Thousand Naira (N40,000.00)
Rice – Thirty Five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00).
The prices represent a significant fall over last year’s harvest season. This is even as input prices keep rising amid changing environmental conditions.
