Israel and Iran are trading blames over ceasefire violation as both sides exchanged fire overnight, with Tehran residents telling BBC Persian they witnessed one of the “heaviest” rounds of attacks by Israel.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, the Israeli military said it had identified missiles launched from Iran and intercepted them over northern Israel.
US President Donald Trump yesterday announced a ceasefire agreement between the two countries.
Earlier today, the US president said that both Iran and Israel violated the ceasefire he announced.
“I’m not sure they did it intentionally,” Trump said before adding: “I don’t like the fact that Israel went out this morning at all. And I’m going to see if I can stop it.”
He, however, said that Iran “will never rebuild its nuclear” capabilities and adds that he’s “not happy with Iran either.”
In another development, Trump has issued a warning to Israel on his Truth Social platform that it should not carry out strikes.
He wrote: “ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!”
606 people have been killed in Israeli strikes since June 13, with 5000 people injured, Iranian media reports the country’s health minister as saying.
