Labour Party (LP) candidate for Kwande East State Constituency in the 2027 Benue State Assembly election, Mr. Julius Ahobee, has unveiled a five-point legislative agenda anchored on security, agriculture, education, youth and women empowerment, and infrastructure.
Mr. Ahobee, who described the agenda as his “social contract” with the people, said his personal experience as a victim and witness of insecurity in the constituency had strengthened his resolve to make the protection of lives and property his first legislative priority.
Under his security plan, the LP candidate pledged to push for stronger protection of Kwande East’s international and inter-state borders, while advocating the deployment of the Talos Surveillance System to improve early detection and response to security threats.
He also proposed a Monthly Constituency Security Dialogue involving traditional rulers, the police, DSS, NSCDC and youth leaders, alongside support for community-based security initiatives and local vigilante groups.
Beyond security, Mr. Ahobee promised to pursue improved access to farm inputs, agricultural intervention funds, storage facilities and agro-processing centres, while his education agenda includes renovation and staffing of schools, scholarships for indigent students and expanded ICT and vocational training.
The LP candidate also pledged skills acquisition and entrepreneurship programmes for youths, support for women’s cooperatives and SMEs, and special interventions for widows, orphans and other vulnerable groups.
On infrastructure, Mr..Ahobee said he would use his position in the Assembly to lobby for rural roads, primary healthcare centres, electricity and potable water projects, while providing what he described as “robust, fearless and people-centred representation.”
He urged voters to support his candidacy, saying his agenda was designed to “rescue, secure and rebuild” Kwande East.
