Prof. Kohol Iornem calls for unity at Jato- Aka carnival

Date:

The Founder and Executive Director of Mzehemen U Tiv Foundation (MUTF), Prof. Kohol Iornem, has charged the people of Turan in Kwande Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State to remain united because there is power in unity.

Prof. Iornem gave the charge at the 5th edition of ‘Tem Imongo i Turan’ a.k.a Jato- Aka carnival on Sunday, January 4, where he served as one of the chairs of the event. He was represented by Mrs. Ngunan Ternenge and generously donated for the success of the carnival.

The MUTF founder described the theme of the carnival, Mzough ka Tahav (strength in unity), as a wake-up call for the people of Turan and, indeed, Kwande, to unite and confront their challenges with a view to overcoming them.

Prof. Iornem, therefore, urged the people to continue with the spirit of unity and enjoy the power of togetherness.

“Let us promote things that unite us rather than things that cause disunity. This way, we can build ourselves as friends and brothers because a tree can not make a forest,” Prof. Iornem said.

Tem Imongo i Turan is an annual event organised by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Jako Voicemedia and Entertainment, Comrade Orduen James Akough a.k.a MC Jamix, with his team.

Welcoming attendees at the event, MC Jamix said the carnival provides them the “opportunity to dine and wine together as one people, bound by culture, love, and shared identity.”

He thanked his sponsors and those who attended the carnival, saying they were the true ambassadors of Turan.

The carnival featured performances from some of the finest Benue Entertainers; a novelty football match; an awards presentation; engagement with Turan elders; a lecture; the crowning of Kumashe u Turan; Tor Kwaor; and merry making.
