Zaamo offers 10 per cent discount to PWDs

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zaamo Transports, Mr. Vershima Ipevnor, has announced 10 per cent discount to support the transportation needs of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in his company.

Mr. Ipevnor announced this while responding to the demands by the PWDs earlier on Tuesday, 3rd December, 2024, at the International Day of Persons With Disabilities 2024, held at No 1 Clement Igoche Street, Ankpa Extension, Awa Village Makurdi.

The theme of the International Day of PWDs 2024 is “Amplifying the Leadership of Persons With Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future.

Mr. Ipevnor, who said disability is not just in the physical, notes that mental disability is worse and assures that he will be working with Mr. Peter Gwer, Monitoring Officer/Programme Officer, Dream Africa, for policies that will be beneficial to PWDs.

He explained that his company has a policy to give PWDs priority seat for transportation experience with Zaamo, whether they booked or not.

Victoria Apam, who responded on behalf of the PWDs, commended Mr. Ipevnor on the gesture and prayed God to bless Zaamo.

Earlier, Mr. Gwer said the International Day of PWDs aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilise support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities as well as ensure leadership inclusiveness.
