President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) has polled 374,787 votes to defeat his main challenger, Mr Osifo Osayamen Stanley, for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential ticket in Benue State.
The result was declared by Fr. Hyacinth Alia, Governor of Benue State, who serves as the Collation and Returning Officer for the exercise.
Mr. Osifo polled 779 votes. There are 390, 507 registered APC members in Benue State.
“The process was peaceful and quite calm,” the governor acknowledged while thanking security agencies for their support.
He also thanked the APC faithful in the state for participating in the process that will lead to the return of PBAT as the head of the Nigerian government in the 2027 general elections.
The governor praised PBAT for his support, which he said enabled him to deliver democratic gains within a short time in office.
