Double celebration for Prof Hon at 57

It was double celebration for Chief Sebastine Hon, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), as he turned 57 on 9th December, 2024.

Born on 9th December, 1967, from Gboko Local Government Area, Benue State, Chief Hon, SAN, was appointed Professor of Law Practice by the Federal University, Oye, Ekiti State, on 9th December, 2024, same day he turned 57 years.

Prof Hon, SAN, told TNT, via whatsapp message that he gives “God Almighty all the glory, in Jesus’ Mighty Name,” following his birthday anniversary and elevation as Professor of Laws celebrations.

A Constitutional lawyer, Prof Hon, SAN, combines law practice with book writing. He graduated from the University of Jos with LLB in 1990 and called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991. In 2008, at the age of 41, the Gboko-born learned silk was called into the Inner Bar as a SAN.

Some of his famous books are: S.T. Hon’s Constitutional and Migration Law in Nigeria (2016), S.T. Hon’s Law of Evidence in Nigeria (2012), S.T. Hon’s Civil Procedure in Nigeria (2008), Law of Evidence in Nigeria: Substantive and Procedural (2006), and Constitutional Law and Jurisprudence in Nigeria (2004).

There have been a barrage of congratulatory messages, since the news of the elevation and birthday anniversary went public.

At the office of his law firm, externs from the Nigerian Law school, led by Miss Tor Samantha, celebrated him with a cake.

The Convener and President, Social Media Digest Summit, Mr. Jacob Wuese, in congratulating Prof Hon, SAN, on his birthday and elevation prays “God to continue to bless the legal icon with good health, long life and prosperity.”

Prof Hon, SAN, is Member, Council of Legal Education, Member, Council of Arbitration and Member, Federal Government Review Committee of Laws of the Federation and holds the chieftaincy title of Afa Atindi U Gboko. He also holds the medal of Distinguished Service Star River State (DSSRS).
