The Rotaract Club of Makurdi Central has honoured Professor Kohol Iornem, Rev. Nick Agure, Michael Ukpanya and Ene Ekwote, for their contributions to humanitarian service and community development.
The personalities were honoured at the investiture of the club’s 28th President, Rotr. Mercy Akende, held on Friday, September 18, at the RAAMP Conference Centre, Makurdi.
Prof. Kohol received the Humanitarian/Dedication to Rotary Club Award in recognition of his humanitarian interventions through his foundations, Mzehemen u Tiv and MENROI Rural Priority Foundation.
Agure, Ukpanya, Ekwote and other awardees were similarly recognised for what the club described as their outstanding commitment to community service and the wellbeing of society.
Receiving the award through his Special Assistant, Harry Nyam, Prof. Kohol congratulated Akende on her investiture and thanked the Rotaract Club for recognising his contributions.
He commended the club for its sustained commitment to humanitarian service, urging its members to remain dedicated to initiatives that improve the lives of people in their communities.
The ceremony also featured the formal unveiling of projects under the new administration, marking the beginning of Akende’s tenure as the club’s 28th president.
The event brought together Rotaractors, community leaders and other distinguished guests to celebrate service, humanitarianism and individuals whose contributions continue to impact their communities.
