2027: Kwande will lead with majority votes for Prof. Kohol – Engr. Iyorhen

Date:

Kwande Local Government Area (LGA) will lead with a majority of votes for Prof. Kohol Shadrach Iornem, without any stress, the Convener of Kwande/Ushongo Forum, Engr. Isaac Iorhen has said ahead of the 2026 All Progressives Congress (APC) Primary Election.

The APC primary election for House of Representatives seats is on Friday, May 15, 2026. Prof. Kohol is contesting the APC ticket for Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency.

The 2027 Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency seat is zoned to Ushongo, one of the two LGAs that comprise the federal constituency.

“Ushongo are taking it (the House of Representatives seat) right away this time, be it on equity and fairness or capacity,” Engr. Iyorhen said, noting that there was no more time to wait.

He explained that 2027 is not about the wish of an incumbent seeking to rank, but about the right of the people to decide who leads them.

“Professor Kohol Shadrach Iornem, is it! Kwande has unanimously agreed to relinquish the House of Representatives seat to Ushongo after holding it for 16 uninterrupted years by 2027,” Engr. Iyorhen went on.

According to Engr. Iyorhen, beyond zoning and turn-taking, winning a highly competitive election requires presenting a candidate with the capacity, popularity, track record, and ability to support the Governor Alia-led administration.

“The APC’s top striker to deliver victory is Prof. Kohol Iornem. Let us come out massively to vote for him because Kwande and Ushongo deserve the best representation,” he concluded
