Ortom denies joining 2027 presidential race

Date:

Former Benue State Governor Chief Samuel Ortom is not in the race for the 2027 presidential election.

It emerged (not from TNT) that the former governor was vying for the 2027 presidential election. Chief Ortom, a member of the Wike faction, is seen by his followers as the leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in North Central Nigeria.

However, Dr. Terver Akase, Media Adviser and Consultant to Chief Ortom, in a statement dated May 7, says the “claim is completely false, baseless, and an obvious handiwork of mischief makers bent on spreading confusion and misinformation.

“Chief Ortom has no ambition whatsoever for the 2027 presidential race. He has consistently and clearly stated that he will not be contesting for any political office in the forthcoming elections.

“The public is therefore advised to disregard the said poster in its entirety. It is nothing more than a fabrication designed to mislead unsuspecting citizens and stir unnecessary political speculation.”
