In continuation of consultations ahead of the 2027 General election, Prof. Kohol Iornem, on Saturday, May 2, met with the State Executive Council of All Progressives Congress (APC), during which he briefed them about his ambition to represent Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives (HoR).
Prof. Kohol is from Ushongo Local Government Area (LGA), the LGA that is favoured to produce the next representative of the constituency.
He reminded the party leaders that every party desires to win elections overwhelmingly, and to achieve this, they must strategise and put their best foot forward.
According to Prof Kohol, the choice of APC as a platform was necessitated by the laudable achievements of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, whose sustainable vision for the growth and development of Benue State has placed the state amongst the top economically and politically developed states in Nigeria. He urged the people to stand firmly behind the governor’s re-election bid in the state’s best interest.
Prof. Kohol assured the party that he was its best foot forward, having prepared himself for the job and enjoys massive support of the people.
He, therefore, appreciated the good people of Kwande for recognising that it is time to give Ushongo their mandate after 16 years.
The APC State Chairman, Chief Benjamin Omale, described Prof Kohol as a credible, loyal, experienced, well-equipped, well-educated and highly exposed personality whose candidacy the party needs to achieve an all-around victory for Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates in the state.
On behalf of the State Executive Council, Chief Omale prayed God to bless the aspirations of Prof Kohol.
The Kwande/Ushongo hopeful was accompanied by Elder Maurice Tsav, Engr. Isaac Iyorhen, Dr. Ungwanen, Elder Jomboh, the GLO, Mvendaga Atetan, Hon. Akor Ikyegh, Comr. Akosu Emmanuel, Hon. Moses Tyokase, friends, and supporters from Kwande and Ushongo LGAs.
