Lebanon’s health ministry says 303 people were killed and more than 1,000 wounded in Israeli strikes on the country on Wednesday, April 8.
A two-week ceasefire was announced in the Middle East last Tuesday, but Israel and the US said Lebanon is not part of the ceasefire deal.
“We continue to strike Hezbollah with force, and we will not stop until we restore your security,” a message published by Netanyahu’s office says.
The Prime Minister reiterates Israel’s objectives to disarm Hezbollah and “to secure a historic and sustainable peace agreement between Israel and Lebanon.”
He is, however, reported to have told the US President Donald Trump that Israel would be “scaling back” attacks in Lebanon.
