A new senior police officer in charge of Benue, Plateau, and Nasarawa States has assumed duty as the 44th Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Zone 4 Headquarters in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State. He is AIG Dankombo F. Morris.
AIG Dankombo succeeds AIG Zacharia Fera Achinyan. Zone 4 was created as a result of the Police reorganisation in 1986.
According to a statement issued by ASP Ayo Oluwaseun Martins, Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, AIG Dankombo is a highly experienced police officer who has served in various operational, investigative, and administrative capacities nationwide.
“His contributions to internal security and police reforms have been significant,” part of the statement reads.
AIG Dankombo’s career is characterised by professionalism, discipline, and outstanding leadership, having participated in numerous tactical, operational, and strategic leadership roles.
A native of Kaltungo Local Government Area (LGA), Gombe State, AIG Dankombo joined the Nigeria Police in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and has consistently advanced through the ranks due to his dedication and exceptional service. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in History from the University of Maiduguri and a Master’s degree in International Relations.
