Member representing Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency, Rep Sesoo Gboko Ikpagher, has made a U-turn, throwing his weight of support for the re-election of Fr Hyacinth Alia for a second term as Governor of Benue State.
Rep Ikpagher had taken sides with a factional wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, popularly known as “stakeholders,” bringing him on a collision course with the governor, who belongs to the “masses.” He is the governor’s representative in the House of Representatives.
Rep Ikpagher is now saying that insinuations that he was working against the vision of the Fr. Alia administration are mischievous and should not be taken seriously.
According to Rep Ikpagher, some political jobbers who want him out of favour were promoting such hate to find cheap favour with the governor.
“I have a dual relationship with Governor Alia, my mother, having come from Mbangur with him. I have no business fighting the governor. I have not insulted him at any point in time,” Rep Ikpagher stated.
The federal lawmaker added that experience is the best teacher, saying that he and the governor will build on the gains posted so far.
He, therefore, called on the people of Benue State, especially those in the Jechira federal constituency, to vote massively for them in the 2027 general election.
According to Rep Ikpagher, Benue APC is under the leadership of Fr Alia and is calling on party members to join hands to foster unity and the development of the state.
