The Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, Mr Tim Nyor, has resigned his position. He made this public in a statement titled: Resignation from office as State Publicity Secretary and from Membership of the People’s Democratic Party.”
Last year, Mr Nyor was made to apologise to his party after he attended a state function in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, and spoke highly of the quality of the agricultural inputs the All Progressives Congress (APC)- led government procured for farmers.
According to Mr Nyor, the decision to dump the PDP “comes after deep introspection and a painful but necessary acknowledgement that I can no longer function within a party system that appears deliberate and intentional in its march toward self-destruction.”
In the circumstance, the former publicist said he cannot afford to allow loyalty to “become complicity, and commitment must never require the surrender of conscience.
“I am left with no choice but to align myself with what I consider a genuine developmental trajectory for our state, the reform-driven strides of Rev. Fr. Alia and what I describe as the Benue Renaissance.”
