Benue State Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, was on Monday, January 12, registered as the number one member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, marking the commencement of the party’s e-registration and membership revalidation exercise in the state.
Fr. Alia was registered in his hometown of Ihugh, Mbadede Council Ward, Vandeikya Local Government Area (LGA).
The State Acting Chairman of the APC, Mr Benjamin Omale, presented the governor with his registration printout.
While calling on those who are willing to join the broom’s party to approach registration areas to be registered, the governor urged members of the APC to visit their ward headquarters in order to revalidate their membership.
“In 2023, you demonstrated to the entire world that Benue is APC. You demonstrated through the ballots that you love me and Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We have both remained faithful to the promises set out in our policy blueprints,” the governor told those who turned out for the exercise.
“I, therefore, urge you to come out and use this opportunity to once again demonstrate that you are ready to vote for consolidation.
“My administration will give priority attention to the most registered areas because this is an APC administration,” Fr. Alia went on while applauding President Tinubu and the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, for the e-registration initiative.
Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, quotes the governor as tasking all the Local Government Council (LGC) chairmen, as well as local party chairmen in the state, to give the registration agents all the needed support and to mobilise the people to participate in the exercise.
Last week, the State Coordinator of the exercise, Mr James Ornguga, said the e-registration exercise will last until the end of this month.
