Security Adviser tasks kinsmen on support, prayers for Fr. Alia

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue State on External Security, Colonel Alexander Igbaya Anshungu (retd), has urged the people of Ucha in Gwer West Local Government Area of the state to rally behind Governor Hyacinth Alia for the accelerated transformation of Benue State.

Col Anshungu (retd), who strongly recommended support for the Fr. Alia administration, gave the charge at Tse Mom Gbaya, Ucha Merkyen Council Ward of Gwer West, where he celebrated the Yuletide season with his immediate community.

He highlighted some of the key achievements of the Governor including discreet push for restoration of security in the state, recruitment of thousands of teachers, rehabilitation and reconstruction of basic schools, investment at Benue State University Teaching Hospital Makurdi, prompt and regular payment of salaries and pensions, investment in agriculture, building of public trust in government among other key development indices as justification for call to support the re-elecrion of Fr. Alia as Governor in 2027.

The Special Adviser, who appealed for patience, explained that with the 2026 budget targeting rural development, livelihood support, and sustained growth, grassroots people will be better off.

While expressing gratitude to the Ucha community for continuous support, guidance, and encouragement since his assumption of duty as the security Adviser, Colonel Anshungu stated that the Governor was not resting on his oars in ensuring that Benue State overcomes its challenges.

In their separate remarks, Baba Jugbenyi and Elder Aboyi commended Colonel Anshungu (retd) for identifying with his people during the Yuletide season and assured the Governor of their unalloyed support.

Highlights of the celebration include the laying on of hands on Colonel Anshungu for blessing and commitment to support Fr. Alia’s re-election, making merry, as well as the donation of assorted food and non-food items to ease the celebration of the Yuletide season.
