IBB’s son denies declining BoA chair

Contrary to reports that Mr. Muhammed Babangida, son of former Nigerian military president General Ibrahim Babangida, has declined appointment as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture (BoA), Mohammed has publicly affirmed his acceptance of the appointment.

Mr Muhammed in a statement, described as “false and malicious” reports purporting that he rejected the appointment made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT).

“We wish to clarify that Muhammed gratefully accepts the appointment as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture, as announced by the federal government, and extends his sincere appreciation to President Tinubu for the trust and confidence bestowed upon him,” part of the statement reads.

Mr Muhammed urged Nigerians to verify news from official sources before sharing.

Bank of Agriculture is critical in financing Nigeria’s agricultural sector and rural development.
