Fr. Alia appoints law professor, Kenen, as Acting VC MOAUM

Benue State Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Alia has approved the appointment of Dr. Emmanuel Ayangarumun Kenen, professor of Law as the Acting Vice- Chancellor (VC), Rev Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University Makurdi (MOAUM).

Sir Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary (CPS), to the Governor who disclosed this development in a press statement said the appointment is in line with the recommendation of the Governing Council of the University.

Prof. Kenen will serve in the capacity for a period of not more than six (6) months, in accordance with the provisions of the law establishing the University as contained in Gazette No. 3, Vol. 45, Part III, 16 (11 & 12), the statement said.

No fewer than 28 professors are said to have applied for the university’s number one job.

Prof. Kenen will be taking over from Prof. Terver Ubwa, who acted as Vice-Chancellor while Prof. Joe Iorapuu, the outgone VC, proceeded on leave.

Fr. Alia congratulated Prof. Kenen on his appointment and urged him to bring to bear his wealth of academic experience, administrative competence, and visionary leadership in steering the affairs of the university during the transitional period.
