Nigerian cyclist and adventurer Emmanuel Myam, a.k.a. Emmiwuks, has departed the West African state of The Gambia for Senegal, another West African state, on his bicycle journey to the US from Nigeria.
On November 4, Emmiwuks arrived in The Gambia, the 11th country he had visited since beginning his solo journey from Lagos, Nigeria, on June 30.
Emmiwuks announced on Sunday, November 23, that he was leaving The Gambia for Senegal, saying he was “fit, strong, healed, and ready to hit the road again tomorrow (Monday) morning.”
“The Gambia held me, healed me, and prepared me for the road ahead.
As I leave tomorrow, your love is going with me. The journey continues. Together, we ride. Together we Rise,” he wrote on his verified Meta Account, Real- Emmiwuks.
Nine hours after setting off for Senegal on Monday, photos of the cyclists appeared online, announcing that he had boarded a ferry at the Bass-Berra ferry terminal for Dakar, Senegal.
Senegal is the 12th country the Benue-born cyclist will cross into on his ambitious journey to raise awareness for orphans, children in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, and other children in need across Africa.
