The incumbent governor of Benue State, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, who is also seeking reelection, is from Vandeikya, while the incumbent representative is from Konshisha.
Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency follows with 12 aspirants while Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency comes last with three aspirants.
No consensus has been reached in any of the constituencies, opening the tickets for direct primaries.
This is not the first time, in this Republic, that direct primaries will be conducted by the APC for the purpose of nominating candidates for general elections. The first time was prior to the 2023 general election.
