Amidst continued strikes, Israel, Hezbollah agreed to ceasefire

Date:

Air strikes by Israeli forces have continued in Lebanon even as Israel and the armed Lebanese group Hezbollah have agreed to a ceasefire.

It is understood that the agreement follows concerns that continued fighting in Lebanon could undermine the deal between the US and Iran, which called for an end to military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon

TNT understands that the relationship between the Trump administration and Israel has appeared strained in recent days.

Experts say the deadly escalation in southern Lebanon is another sign that Trump is not necessarily in control of the fate of his deal with Iran.

According to Lebanon’s health ministry, strikes by Israeli forces since midnight have killed at least 47 people, while Israel says four of its soldiers were killed by Iran-backed Hezbollah.

President Donald Trump wants the fighting in Lebanon to stop before it derails negotiations with Iran.
