The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency election, Prof. Kohol Iornem, has said that the visit of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is an eye-opener to the achievements recorded by Fr. Hyacinth Alia, Governor of Benue State.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu was in the state as part of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), a nationwide programme dedicated to empowering women, strengthening families, and improving the well-being of vulnerable groups across the country.
During the visit, the First Lady commissioned 10 intra-city road projects under Phase I of the Fr. Hyacinth Alia administration’s Urban Renewal Programme in Makurdi, the Benue State capital. One of the roads was named Senator Oluremi Tinubu Road.
According to Prof. Kohol, the visit of the First Lady and the commissioning of the projects will put an end to speculations about whether Fr. Alia has completed any project since assuming office as governor in 2023.
He commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), describing it as a valuable vehicle for the upliftment of women, youth, children, and other vulnerable groups.
The Kwande/Ushongo APC candidate also commended Fr. Alia for his “monumental achievements” and expressed optimism that if re-elected, the governor would deliver even greater benefits to the people of Benue State.
