2027 Jechira hopeful, Tsar donates N20m for projects at burnt Benue school

Date:

The 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) hopeful for the Vandeikya/Konshisha (Jechira) Federal Constituency election, Dr. Livinus Tsar, has directed the immediate reconstruction of the Fr. Albert Bulbwa Hostel and the installation of solar lights and CCTV cameras at St. Winifred’s Girls Secondary School, Ihugh, in Vandeikya Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State.

St. Winifred’s Ihugh has suffered two fire outbreaks in recent times, forcing the school to relocate some of its students to Queen of the Rosary Secondary School, Gboko, and St. Mary’s Girls Secondary School, Adikpo, pending the reconstruction of the burnt hostels.

Moved by the plight of the students, Dr. Tsar visited the school on June 2 to assess the situation firsthand.

The APC hopeful and Fr. Hyacinth Alia’s point man in Konshisha LGA, who sympathised with the school’s management, students and the host community, condemned the unfortunate incidents and called on residents to help safeguard the institution.

He noted that when the welfare and safety of young girls are threatened, collective responsibility and genuine concern are required to address the challenges.

Dr. Tsar therefore donated N20 million to support the immediate reconstruction of the burnt Fr. Albert Bulbwa Hostel and the installation of solar lights and CCTV cameras in the school.

He explained that the girls’ school exists for the benefit of all and urged aspirants and elected officials seeking re-election to contribute their quota towards its restoration.

In another development, Dr. Tsar has supported the ongoing construction of a modern church at St. Winifred’s Parish, Ihugh, with a donation of N10 million towards the completion of the project.
