The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the last general election, Mr Titus Uba, has announced the decision to team up with his rival at the 2023 polls, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, Executive Governor of Benue State, dumping his leader and former Governor Samuel Ortom.
Fr. Alia polled 473,933 votes in the March 20, 2023, Benue Governorship election to defeat the PDP’s Uba.
Addressing a New Year’s Day feast at Ute on January 1, the 2023 PDP gubernatorial candidate said his people had asked him for direction, and that it was the appropriate occasion to give it to them.
“You had sent to me for the direction I am headed so you could follow. Today, I am, therefore, telling you that I’ve come back to team up with my brother Fr. Alia,” Mr. Uba declared.
The governor thanked Mr Uba for inviting him to celebrate the 2026 New Year’s Day with him and the people of Ute.
He emphasised the need for unity of purpose and the charge not to leave anyone behind.
