Second term for Benue Governors is sacrosanct- HRH Abomtse

Date:

The Ter Tyoshin and Chairman, Gwer West Area Traditional Council, His Royal Highness (HRH) Daniel Ayua Abomtse, has advised Fr. Hyacinth Alia, Governor of Benue State, to “not look back” and “keep going forward” because it is sacrosanct for governors of the state to serve a second term.

HRH Abomtse, who was addressing Local Government Council (LGC) chairmen from the Lobi and Gwer Intermediate Areas of Benue State, who paid homage to him at his palace in Naka, Gwer West LGC Headquarters, sounded a note of advice.

He also charged them against sabotage.

“You, chairmen, are the building blocks of governance. None of you should be a saboteur. Do not give Alia divided loyalty. Let it be implicit. Let it be unwavering and rock solid. He will be more encouraged to give Benue the desired development,” HRH Abomtse counselled.

The Ter Tyôshin was categorical that, given a second term, Fr. Alia will surpass the achievements of the first civilian governor of Benue State, the late Aper Aku. Aku served between 1979 and 1983.

“There are indicators that (Fr.) Alia will surpass Aku’s achievements. The reason is that the things Aku did in four years, (Fr.) Alia has done it in two years.

“Therefore, if it is eight years, it will amount to double. He is the man with the disposition to liberate Benue from the shackles of underdevelopment and poverty. It is important to stand behind this man,” HRH explained.
