Christmas bonanza: Benue Links pegs Lagos fare at N21,000. 00

Date:

The Benue State Government transporter, Benue Links (Nigeria) Limited, has commenced the 2025 Christmas Transport Fare Reduction Bonanza, pegging Lagos fare at Twenty One Thousand Naira (N21,000.00) from Makurdi, Benue State capital, effective Monday, December 8.

Last week, Benue Links General Manager, Sir Alexander Fanafa, announced that the bonanza complies with the directive of the state Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, to provide further relief on the company’s existing fare relief regime.

The bonanza applies to both inter-state and intra-state routes and will run until Friday, January 2, 2026.

Johnson Ehi Daniel, the company’s Information Officer, said in a statement that, in addition to providing customers with extra funds to cater for other expenses, no matter how little, the bonanza will also help prevent the exploitation of commuters through exorbitant fares during the yuletide season.

Commentators have commended the General Manager, Sir Fanafa, for what they called consideration for other transporters by reducing the fare by 5 per cent.
