The Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Mr Benjamin Omale has described the endorsement of Fr. Hyacinth Alia for a second term as Governor of Benue State by Ambassador Terhemen Tarzoor as a demonstration of love for the state.
Mr. Omale, who stated this in a press statement made available to journalists in Makurdi, the state capital, was reacting to the news of the endorsement by Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Namibia.
Amb. Tarzoor, a 2015 gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was appointed Ambassador to Namibia in 2021, after defecting to APC ahead of the 2019 general elections.
At a news conference on Monday, October 27, in Makurdi, Amb. Tarzoor, in endorsing the governor for a second term, said he finds immense joy and reassurance in seeing his aspirations reflect vividly in the visionary leadership of the governor.
According to Mr. Omale, Amb. Tarzoor’s declaration not only demonstrates love for the state but a testament that the administration of Fr. Alia is delivering dividends of democracy to the good people of Benue State in all areas of governance.
The chairman, who highlighted the achievements of the Fr. Alia administration in the areas of infrastructural development including good roads, improved healthcare delivery, quality education, electrification, agriculture, empowerment and other areas of governance, said the endorsement by the former ambassador is a moral booster for the governor to do more.
