The Benue State Government has “strongly warned” political appointees “to desist forthwith from using letterhead papers for any form of correspondence, transactions, or communication,” Mr. James Adzande, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media (Cabinet Office), has said in a statement on behalf of Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Those affected by the decision are Principal Special Assistants (PPAs), Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), Special Assistants (SAs), and Personal Assistants (PAs).
This is not the first time that the BSNG would be issuing the directive, having earlier prohibited the practice.
“The Alia-led administration considers this disregard for established protocol as a serious act of misconduct and gross insubordination.
“Consequently, any appointee found violating this directive shall face strict disciplinary action, which may include suspension or termination of appointment,” Mr. Adzande said in the statement.
He adds that the BNSG “remains committed to upholding decorum, discipline, and due process in the conduct of official business, and expects all appointees to align accordingly.”
