2000 residents for Livinus Tsar empowerment scheme

Date:

No fewer than 2000 residents of Ushongo Local Government Area (LGA) are expected to benefit from the Engr Livinus Tsar special skills acquisition and social empowerment programme.

The programme, which targets youth, women, and widows as beneficiaries, was flagged off on Thursday, September 18, at Ikyobo Comprehensive College (ICC), Mbakuha, Ushongo LGA, as part of Engr Tsar’s efforts to create jobs, successful entrepreneurs, and economic stability.

Entrepreneurial ventures for training include handbag production, shoes, clothing, detergents, cream perfumes, insecticides, organic fertilizer, soaps, flour, and cake baking.

Engr. Tsar charged the beneficiaries to take the programme seriously to improve their social and economic status, Media and Communications Directorate, LIVITSAR Support Group says in a statement.

The Executive Chairman, Ushongo Government Local Government Council (LGC), Hon Terkimbi Adzu, commended Engr. Tsar for his “uncommon humanitarian acts and physical rural infrastructural development across local government areas in Zone A (Benue North East), particularly Benue state at large.”

He described Engr. Tsar as a bridge for development in Ushongo LGA, and he further acknowledged the late Aper Aku, who also achieved massive infrastructural development in the same vein as vigorously pursued by the current Benue State Governor, Rev Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.

In his remarks, the District Head of Mbakuha, Tyoor Dominic Achile, expressed admiration for Engr Tsar’s development initiative, particularly in the areas of social empowerment and the provision of massive rural water and light across communities.

Tyoor Achile appreciated Engr. Tsar for attracting such an uncommon skills acquisition and empowerment programme to his maternal home of Ushongo, urging residents of the LGA to massively participate in the programme, which aims to create jobs and make the people economically stable and self-reliant.

Other notable speakers, including Pastor Jacob Agede, Hon Sixtus Agbanyi, SSA to the Governor, Hon Emmanuel Iorbee, PSA to the Governor, Hon Atetan Mvendaga, Hon Sylveter Igbudu, Zaki Terpase Aungu, Mrs Janet Gele, amongst others, expressed gratitude and satisfaction with Engr Tsar as a selfless humanitarian whose superlative rural transformation is impacting and deeply complementing the development agenda of Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, Executive Governor of Benue State. They prayed to grant him success in all his selfless aspirations and people-oriented programmes.

Pastor Agede further urged all beneficiaries of the programme and the entire residents of Ushongo to massively turn out for the ongoing INEC Continuous Voter Registration exercise and obtain their Voter’s card to vote only credible, trusted and selfless leadership in the next general election.
