A group of friends, under the platform of TopFriends for Alia and Jime 2027, have begun consultations to support the candidatures of Fr. Hyacinth Alia, Executive Governor of Benue State, and Emmanuel Jime, Esq, ahead of the 2027 General elections.
The Convener of the group, Mr Aondona Yuha a.k.a Dada, told TNT after a meeting of the group in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, that Fr. Alia needs more time to continue with the “good work he is doing in the state” and the reason TopFriends have come out to push for his re-election.
According to Mr. Yuhe, in less than three years in office, Fr. Alia has rewritten the story of Nigeria’s food basket state through prompt and regular payment of salaries, pensions, infrastructural development, investment in education and health, and giving the young people of the state the chance to be active players in the governance of the state.
He explained that given another term, Fr. Alia would consolidate on the developmental projects he had delivered and turn the state around as one of the biggest economies, if not in Nigeria, North Central Nigeria.
On why Jime for Benue North West Senatorial District 2027, Mr. Yuhe said, as someone who had been to the House of Representatives twice, the former Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency representative will not be a new face in the National Assembly and the positive impact he would attract to his district.
He explained that the governor needs people who will complement his developmental efforts, not those who will engage in unhealthy competition that will bring the state no good.
Therefore, Mr. Yuhe invites the people of the state to rally support for the two political leaders so that they are returned as “Governor of Benue State and Senator,” respectively, in 2027.
